The word relic, from the Latin reliquiae, refers to the remains of a martyr or saint. A reliquary is a shrine that contains such relics, providing physical reference for intangible beliefs, values, customs, and deeds. Ellen Lynch explores variations of these themes, focusing on spiritual qualities found in the natural world. Her work employs two visual methods of enshrining relics of nature as saints and martyrs, teachers and healers.

The work is represented in: Jackson, WY at the Jackson Street Gallery; Memphis, TN at the Linda Ross Gallery; and Tubac, AZ at the Feminine Mystique Gallery. Sales are also available through the artist. Commissions and architectural installations are welcome.
