The artists of LMC engage and challenge modern art in a variety of media. Besides being my sister and best friend, Claudia is a talented artist who after a career as an internationally-known costumer for ballet and theater, chose a path of painter and designer. Her Shoe Stories®, which have gained national acclaim, showcase her artistic capabilites as well as her sharp wit.
Jeannie Friedman is a painter, graphic designer, illustrator, and poet. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she inherited her Italian family’s love of art in the everyday: the particular weave of threads in a wool plaid shirt, the precise ripeness of fresh red, Jersey tomatoes handled carefully in the open air market, and the sensual richness of South Philadelphia’s Catholic churches.
Each new painting is an uncharted territory built on the deep belief that making art is a powerful human need: the need to connect to other people through personal expression.
An artist in the truest sense, Jackie creates inspired watercolors full of magic and wonder. Her writing is as full of life as her visual work, offering glimpses into her English seaside and the beings with whom she shares her life.
