STONE QUILTS

The process involves stitching river stones to beautifully tanned latigo leather, using rawhide laces that have been soaked in water to soften them. As the rawhide dries, the stones are pulled snugly to the leather.

The frames are handcrafted of either mohogany or knotty alder. The frame also acts as a stretcher for the quilt.

The approximate weight of a 20" x 20" piece framed is 10 pounds.

Prices are per piece. Please contact the artist for individual pricing.

Commissions and architectural instillations are welcome. The price is approximately $500 per square foot with a 3 feet minimum. Commissions are provided first as sketches, based on the given size and stones to be included. Along with wall hangings, installations have also included fireplace decorations, wall treatments, bar finishes and decorative borders.
